Capri Theatre | 2027 W Broadway, Minneapolis, MN 55411
The Power of People Leadership Institute (POPLI), in collaboration with state and local leaders and the League of Women Voters, is proud to celebrate the 3rd annual Restoration of Civil Rights Day, empowering and educating new voters across Minnesota. November 5th will be the first presidential election for 55,000 second-chance voters in Minnesota.
In 2021, Vice-President Nominee Governor Tim Walz signed a proclamation declaring October 28th as Restoration of Civil Rights Day, marking a significant milestone in restoring voting rights to formerly incarcerated individuals. As part of the celebration, POPLI will provide a New Voter Training, where participants will learn how to locate their nearest polling location, how to read a ballot, and understand the electoral process.
POPLI’s Re-Planting Program mentors incarcerated and previously incarcerated adults, promoting personal transformation through education and leadership development while empowering them to create positive change.
